The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) is set to add men’s wrestling as a championship sport for the 2020-21 season. The addition is the fifth new sport in the last five years for the WHAC and brings the total number of sponsored sports to 26, tying the Heart of America Conference for the second-most in the NAIA. The MidSouth Conference leads the way with 28 sports.

Five current WHAC schools – Cleary, Indiana Tech, Lourdes, Rochester, and Siena Heights – sponsor the sport already. It’s hoped that the total number of schools will increase to six soon. The WHAC joins eight other NAIA conferences sponsor the sport.
