NWCA Releases Regular Season NCAA Women’s Coaches Poll #2

MANHEIM, PA – The third set of National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Women’s Wrestling rankings was released on Thursday and there is a new number one team. King University jumps North Central College to reclaim the top spot by one point while East Stroudsburg University enters the top 10 for the first time. The first set of dual rankings were also released with North Central holding the top spot. 

King takes over the top spot with 93 points while North Central is second with 92 points. Both teams have 12 individuals ranked, and are the only two institutions with at least 10 individuals in the rankings. McKendree University also moves up one spot with 73 over Colorado Mesa University’s 71 points as each have seven individuals ranked. Augsburg University held steady at fifth with 52 points and five ranked individuals. 

INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS

Simon Fraser University also has five ranked individuals and moved up one spot to sixth with 43 points while Presbyterian College drops one spot to seventh with 38 points. Gannon University enters the top 10 at eighth with 21 points and five ranked individuals. Lindenwood University held steady at ninth with 18 points and East Stroudsburg University cracks the top 10 for the first time with 17 points and four individuals ranked. 

There are three new individuals ranked No. 1, starting with Lizzette Rodriguez of McKendree at 101 pounds. Nina Makem of Augsburg regains the top spot at 136 pounds while Ana Luciano of King takes the top ranking at 143 pounds. 

In the first dual rankings, North Central comes in first with King to follow at second. Colorado Mesa is third and McKendree comes in second. Augsburg rounds out the top five, followed by Simon Fraser and sixth. Adrian College is ranked seventh, followed by Sacred Heart at eighth. Gannon and East Stroudsburg rounded out the top 10 at eighth and ninth, respectively.
