NWCA announces InBody as the Official Body Composition Scale

More than 8,500 high school wrestling programs will benefit from InBody’s body composition analysis devices, proven to be the most accurate on the market

CERRITOS, Calif., (November 8, 2017) – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced an official partnership with InBody that will help countless high school wrestlers across the nation maximize their performance through the evaluation of their body composition and weight. Data like percent body fat will be used to help the wrestler identify their ideal competition weight class.  InBody devices will also help track and, ensure wrestlers are properly hydrated before and after each practice and match.

“In an independent, peer-reviewed study, InBody was proven to be the most accurate body composition analyzer of four scales that were evaluated,” said Mike Moyer, executive director of the NWCA. “The NWCA chose InBody as its official Body Composition Scale partner after researchers at Cal State Fullerton determined that their device was the most accurate of all BIA scales that were tested.  We have forwarded the validation summary results to all state high school athletic associations and we hope that all of them will eventually approve the InBody BIA Scale as compliant for administering the Wrestling Weight Certification program.”

“Knowing and, tracking percent body fat, muscle mass and total body water can have a big impact on an athlete’s wins-to-losses ratio,” said Dan Park, InBody director of sales. “We’re confident our partnership with NWCA will help these young wrestlers improve their performance in the ring.”

The InBody devices for NWCA are now available for sale. Be sure to check with your state high school athletic association and/or their respective medical committees before utilizing this device to administer your state wrestling weight certification program.
