National Runner-Up faces new competition at the 143 Pound Weight Class at the 2018 NWCA All-Star Classic

by Dan Weaver, NWCA

Manheim, PA – King’s Nicole Joseph is set to face off against McKendree’s Alexis Porter. This will be Joseph’s first year wrestling at 143 pounds. She was previously a WCWA fourth-place All-American finisher at 136 and has moved up to compete at the 143-weight class this season. Nicole played a vital role two years ago helping King claim the NWCA Multidivisional National Dual Title and the WCWA National Championship Team Title. She finished the 2018 season with a record of 32-17 which included thirteen tech falls and nine pins. Nicole was the runner-up at the Missouri Valley Open, finished third at the Bearcat Open, and won the King Open. Nicole is looking to kick off the season against 143-pound WCWA National Runner-Up, Alexis Porter.

Alexis Porter of Clifton Park, New York is a three-time National Qualifier and All-American. In 2018, she reached the Finals but lost a tough match to current World Bronze Medalist Mallory Velte. She has an overall career record of 212-37. Alexis is well decorated and has dominated her competition since her Freshman year. She was the USAW University National Champion, two-time junior world team member, four-time Fargo National Champion, 2015 Junior Pan American Champion, and the 2016 Junior World Bronze Medalist. Alexis Porter is proud to represent her McKendree Wildcats as the third Wildcat to wrestle in the NWCA All-Star Classic.
