Jordan Leen Named Brown University Wrestling Head Coach

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University Athletics has named Jordan Leen the Marvin Wilenzik ’56 Head Coaching Chair for Brown Wrestling. Leen joins College Hill after six seasons as the associate head coach at the University of Pittsburgh.
“We are excited to have Jordan join Brown Athletics and lead our wrestling program,” said M. Grace Calhoun ’92, Ph.D., Chancellor Samuel M. Mencoff ’78 Vice President for Athletics and Recreation. “As a national champion, three-time All-American, and four-time NCAA qualifier, Jordan knows what it takes to compete at the highest level while pursuing a world-class education. Jordan’s record of success combined with his work ethic and vision for building the program set him apart. We are thrilled to welcome Jordan, Paige, and their three sons to Providence.”
“It is an honor to be selected as the next Marvin Wilenzik ’56 Head Coaching Chair for Brown Wrestling,” said Leen. “I am grateful that Dr. Calhoun and her leadership team have entrusted me with this great opportunity. Brown’s academic reputation speaks for itself. The wrestling program has established a strong foundation over the years. My wife and I are excited to move our family to Providence, and I am ready to get to work. It is a great time to be at Brown. The future is bright!”
As the Panthers’ associate head coach, Leen has coached 27 NCAA qualifiers, 10 Individual ACC Champions, and seven All-Americans, including a pair of ACC Champions and NCAA Finalists in Nino Bonaccorsi and Jake Wentzel. The 2021 team finished 11th at the NCAA Championships – the best team finish since 1970, while the Panther’s incoming recruiting class for 2022 is ranked No. 14 in the nation
Leen joined Pitt’s staff after six seasons with Virginia, where he also served as an assistant and eventually Associate Head Coach, helping to produce 40 NCAA qualifiers, nine ACC champions, and six All-Americans. Leen was crucial in landing several nationally recognized recruiting classes, including the No. 5 ranked class in 2015.
Leen got his coaching start at Duke in 2010-11.
A 2009 graduate of Cornell, Leen was the 2008 157-pound NCAA champion, a three-time All-American, and a four-time NCAA qualifier. He posted a career record of 118-29 while garnering First Team All-Ivy honors three times.
