Wow, hard to believe that I have been at the NWCA for six months already! It seems like only yesterday we started on this journey.

My goal this season is to attend as many wrestling events as I possibly can and talk to as many coaches as possible. The best way for us to find out what our coaches’ needs are is to get in the trenches with them and find out what they are thinking. I know it is hard to talk to coaches at tournaments and events because they are laser-focused on coaching their athletes, but I hope to use any downtime during these events to get a pulse for what is and isn’t working for our coaches. This past weekend it was great to be able to watch the York College (PA) New Standard Invitational, where 15 teams competed. I was able to chat with several coaches, and it was great to hear what they had to say. If you see me at an event, please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself and let’s have a chat about how we can make things better for our coaches.

We continue to make progress with the planning for our 2020 Convention. Dan Weaver and I will be traveling to Hollywood, Florida, in mid-December to work on our pre-planning logistics for the Convention, and we will meet with the key people at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to set the stage for a great Convention in July-August 2020. We have a lot of exciting new things planned, and we hope you are making plans to experience our Convention.

If I can be of service to any of our members, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I would like to wish everyone a wonderful and joyous holiday season and a very Happy New Year!
